Typical Polish bookings
Calls in an evaluation
Phone suits the parts of an evaluation that need no papers on screen and no child in the room. Schools book the calls below.
The evaluator can take the child's history over the phone from a parent who cannot come to the school. The interpreter interprets each question and answer in full, so the evaluator hears the parent's own words.
Staff call a parent to explain the evaluation and what the parent will be asked to sign, and to agree on dates for the testing sessions. Such calls are short, and they are booked apart from the interview.
After the results meeting, a parent may call the evaluator with questions about the report. The interpreter interprets the questions and the evaluator's answers, and a note in the booking tells the interpreter which report the parent means.
Evaluation calls
The history interview and the scheduling calls are only conversation, so they can be held by phone when the parent has no video connection or the evaluator is in another place. Testing the child, and a results meeting with the report on screen, usually work better in a room or on video. The evaluator decides how each part of the evaluation is held.

The evaluator, often the school psychologist, leads the call and asks the questions about the child's history. The parent answers from home or work, and hears each question in the parent's own language. The speech-language pathologist can join the call for questions about speech, and the interpreter dials in on the same line.
The interpreter lets one person speak at a time, because a call has no faces or gestures to follow. The evaluator asks in a few sentences and pauses, and the interpreter gives the question to the parent in the parent's language. The parent's answer comes back in the first person and in full, including answers the parent is unsure of. The interpreter keeps the call private and does not suggest answers.
On the phone
A history interview spans many years and topics, so book it as its own block of time. A scheduling call is short and is booked separately, with the open dates in the notes. Send the history form in the booking notes as well, so the interpreter has the questions in front of them.
On-site, video or phone
Phone works for the talking parts of an evaluation. Testing and report review call for a different setting.

Book an interpreter at the school for testing sessions, observations and any part where the child is with the evaluator.
On-Site Interpretation for Special Education Evaluations
Video suits a results meeting, when the report is shared on screen.
Video-Remote Interpretation for Special Education Evaluations
Phone fits a history interview or a scheduling call with a parent who has no video.

Can't find it here?
Yes. Once everyone is on the line, the interpreter can add another person to the call.
The evaluator decides whether the child joins the call. If the child does, the interpreter interprets the child's words in the first person and adds no hints.
Yes. Any phone works, a mobile or a landline, and nobody needs an app or a link.
Phone calls are priced by the time you booked, with the total shown before you pay. A history interview is long, so book it generously, because unused time is not refunded.
