FAQ

Answers to what callers actually ask.

The ones we hear most often, answered by our dispatch and project-management teams.

Can't find it here?

01Do you offer on-demand phone interpretation?

No. Texliff phone interpretation is scheduled in advance — typically 24–48 hours before your call. Booking ahead lets us match the right court-certified or medical-credentialed linguist to your matter and confirm a guaranteed time slot.

02How do I set up a phone interpretation session?

Submit a request with your language pair, date, time, and a short description of the matter. We send back a confirmation with a dial-in number, an access code, and the assigned interpreter's name and credentials.

03How long can a session run?

Phone bookings start at a 30-minute minimum and can run as long as you need. We recommend booking 15 minutes longer than your estimate so the interpreter does not need to leave mid-call.

04Are calls HIPAA-friendly?

Yes. Calls route over standard PSTN with no recording by default, and all interpreters sign HIPAA training and BAAs are available for healthcare customers. Personal health information is handled under our standard confidentiality framework.

05How do you bill phone interpretation?

You pay only for the time you booked, billed to the minute past your scheduled window. Rates depend on the language pair and interpreter credentials — see the pricing card on this page for current ranges.

06Can the interpreter dial out to a third party?

Yes. We can either give you a 3-way bridge to add a limited-English speaker yourself, or we can outdial to a number you provide once everyone is on the line.

07What if my call needs to escalate to video?

If a phone session needs visual cues — a prescription label, a signed document, body language — we can convert the booking into a Video Remote Interpretation session, subject to interpreter availability.

08Which languages do you cover?

Over 100 languages into and out of English, including Spanish, Mandarin, Arabic, Vietnamese, Russian, Portuguese, French, Korean, Tagalog, Polish, Haitian Creole, Somali, Karen, Burmese, and many more.
