Where it gets used

Words that bind, in two languages.

A contract is the rare document where the words are the product: change a rendering and you may have changed an obligation. Whether the translation is heading to a courtroom, a counterparty, or a compliance file, it has to carry the exact deal — no interpretive drift.

Courts and arbitration

Disputes over foreign-language contracts run on certified translations. Both sides will parse clauses word by word, so the translation is built to withstand hostile reading.

Counterparties and negotiation

Cross-border deals need working translations both sides trust before signature. Clean, consistent renderings keep negotiations about the deal instead of about the wording.

Agencies and filings

Employment contracts in immigration petitions, distribution agreements in regulatory files — agencies take certified translations, and read them against the rest of the submission.

Due diligence and compliance

Acquirers and auditors reviewing foreign contracts need to know exactly what the company signed. Translation gaps here surface later as priced-in risk.

What gets translated

The mechanics of the deal, preserved exactly.

Legal drafting is engineering in prose: defined terms, cross-references, precedence clauses. The translation preserves the machine, not just the meaning.

Defined terms, locked

Every capitalized defined term mapped to one rendering and held to it across the entire document — the discipline that makes a contract translation usable.

Clause numbering mirrored

Articles, sections, and cross-references keep their numbers, so “as provided in Section 7.2” still points where it should.

Governing law and citations

Statutory references and jurisdiction clauses reproduced as citations, with the legal system’s own terminology respected.

Schedules and annexes

Exhibits, pricing schedules, and appendices translated as part of the instrument they belong to.

Signature blocks and seals

Signatories, titles, company seals and chops described in place — execution formalities are part of the evidence.

Amendments and riders

Handwritten changes, initialed margins, and riders translated in position, because they modify everything printed around them.

Before you order

Certified or working copy — match the destination.

The same contract needs different products at different moments: a certified translation when it enters a record, a clean working translation when the deal is still moving. Choosing right avoids paying for formality you do not need yet.

Certified translation

For the record
Signed Certificate of Accuracy attached
What courts, agencies, and USCIS file
Complete — schedules and all
Built to survive adversarial reading

Order this when the translation will be submitted anywhere official: litigation, arbitration, immigration, regulatory filings.

Working translation

For the deal
Same legal-specialist linguists
Certification layer
Ideal during drafting and negotiation
Certifiable later if the deal lands in a file

Order this while terms are still moving. If the contract later needs to enter a record, we certify the final version rather than starting over.

Unsure which? Tell us where the translation is going and we will scope it — upgrading a working translation to certified later is routine.

How it works

From executed original to usable translation.

Photograph or scan it

Take a clear photo or scan of your contract and upload it. The word count and the exact total show before you pay — no account needed.

A specialist linguist takes it

Your file goes to a native speaker who works with this document type every week and knows its stamps, layouts, and abbreviations on sight.

Reviewed, then certified

A second linguist checks names, dates, numbers, and layout against the original. Only then is the Certificate of Accuracy signed.

Delivered as one PDF

Translation, certificate, and a copy of the source in a single file — ready to attach to your filing or forward to whoever asked for it.

Starting at$24.95

Pricing is by word count, which is the honest metric for contracts: a two-page NDA and a sixty-page distribution agreement cost what they actually contain. The exact total shows before you pay.

FAQ

The questions that actually come up.

The ones we hear most often, answered by our dispatch and project-management teams.

Can't find it here?

01Do your translators understand legal terminology, or just language?

Contracts are assigned to linguists who work in legal text as their specialty — people who know that consideration, assignment, and execution are terms of art, and who keep the source system’s concepts intact instead of forcing them into the nearest common-law shape. A second legal linguist reviews before delivery.

02Our contract exists in both languages and they disagree. Can you tell us where?

Yes — bilingual-version comparison is a service we perform for counsel: a clause-by-clause read of both versions flagging every divergence, delivered as a memo rather than opinion. What the precedence clause does with those divergences is your attorney’s territory; finding them precisely is ours.

03Is the translated contract legally binding?

The binding instrument is whatever the parties executed — usually the original, or whichever version the contract itself designates as controlling. A certified translation lets courts and agencies read the instrument; it does not replace it. We translate; the law is your counsel’s domain.

04The contract has handwritten amendments and initials in the margins.

Those are translated in position, marked as handwritten — they are often the most legally significant lines on the page. Photograph the amended pages carefully; a cropped margin note is the most common cause of a follow-up request from us.

05How is the price calculated?

By word count. Upload the contract, we count the words, and the exact total shows before you pay — starting at $24.95. Schedules and annexes count only if you include them, and the quote itemizes per document.

06Can you keep our previous contracts’ terminology?

Yes — send prior translations or a glossary and we hold new work to it. Companies with recurring paper get a maintained termbase, so every agreement in the relationship reads consistently.
