District phone calls
District staff use phone for conversations a family can have from any place, such as a call from a welcome center about documents or a call from a special education coordinator after a meeting. The family needs only a phone. A coordinator can book a call for any school from the same dashboard, and a language few interpreters near the district speak can still be booked, because the interpreter dials in from anywhere in the US.

A district staff member places the call. A special education coordinator calls about next steps after a meeting, an enrollment clerk calls about documents, and an evaluator takes the parent's history of the child. The parent or guardian answers and asks their questions. The interpreter dials in as well, so the staff member and the parent hear each other through one line.
On a call the voice is all there is, so the interpreter lets the speaker finish and then interprets that part in full. The parent can take part as fully as the staff member, because the replies go back the same way. The interpreter stays neutral, keeps the call confidential, and does not explain district decisions.
On a call
Each booking's confirmation has the dial-in number and access code for that call. A coordinator who books for several schools can pass them to the right staff member, who shares them with the parent. On the call, the staff member says a part and waits for the interpreter before the parent replies. If a call turns out to need a screen, we can change the booking to video, subject to the interpreter's availability.

Can't find it here?
A phone, the dial-in number and the access code. There is no app and no link.
Yes. Once everyone is on the line, the interpreter can add a third party, for instance a school nurse who has to join from another building.
Name the interpreter in the booking notes. We book the service rather than a particular person, so we take the request into account and assign them when they are available.
The time you book sets the price, and the total shows before checkout. Book a little past the planned call, because the interpreter is reserved for the full booking and unused time is not refunded.
No. A booking covers English and one other language with one interpreter, so a second language is booked separately.
70 languages. Spanish, Arabic, Vietnamese, Russian and Portuguese are the simplest to schedule. Languages such as Burmese or Pashto are harder to staff and need more notice.
Yes. Court-certified and medically credentialed Urdu interpreters are assigned to legal and clinical matters — Federal Court Interpreter Certification, state court rosters, CCHI / NBCMI for medical. For community, educational and corporate settings we assign professionally trained interpreters matched to the subject.
