Book an interpreterParts of an audit
The interpreter works through each part of the audit with the auditor. Send the audit plan with the booking, so the interpreter knows the order of the day.
The auditor opens the audit with the plant manager and closes it by going over the findings. Everything is interpreted in both directions, so the plant hears each finding and the auditor hears the plant's questions.
The interpreter walks the floor with the auditor, as the audit requires. When the auditor stops to talk with a staff member, the interpreter interprets the question and the answer on the spot.
The auditor goes through the plant's records with the staff who keep them. The interpreter interprets the questions and the explanations, and records in the plant's language can be translated into English beforehand.
The auditor speaks with workers away from their managers. The interpreter interprets in full, in the first person, and keeps what each worker says confidential, so the auditor hears the worker's own words.
Audits at the plant
A factory audit is held at the plant, so the interpreter comes to the same address and works through the audit with the auditor. An audit moves through an opening meeting, a walk through the plant, a review of records and interviews with workers, then a closing meeting. An interpreter in person suits an audit that includes the floor, because the interpreter can stay at the auditor's side as the work moves between rooms. A trip beyond the interpreter's metro area is quoted as a separate line when you book.

The auditor works for a customer, a certification body or a social compliance firm, and leads the day. The plant manager answers questions about how the plant runs and joins the opening and closing meetings. Workers are interviewed away from their managers. The interpreter stays beside the auditor and interprets for everyone who speaks the other language.
The interpreter's job is to make the audit as clear as it would be if the auditor and the plant spoke the same language. Everything is interpreted in full, in both directions, and nothing is softened or left out. The interpreter is neutral, so they do not coach the plant on how to answer or tell the auditor what to conclude, and they keep every interview confidential.
Audit day
Tell us the site's safety gear rules when you book, such as a hard hat, safety glasses or closed shoes, and the interpreter comes ready to walk the floor. You get the interpreter's name before the day, so the gate can expect them at the start of the audit.
On-site, video or phone
An audit that includes the floor is best held with the interpreter at the plant. Video or phone works in the cases below.

An interpreter in person is the right choice when the auditor walks the plant and meets workers face to face.

Video works when the auditor reviews the plant from another city and staff walk a tablet through each area.
Video-Remote Interpretation for Factory Audits
Phone works for a call after the audit, such as the auditor's questions about corrective actions.

FAQ
The ones we hear most often, answered by our dispatch and project-management teams.
Can't find it here?
Yes, we work in all 50 states. Large metro areas are the easiest to schedule, and a plant in a rural area needs more notice.
One interpreter works in English and one other language per booking. For a second language, book a second interpreter for the same address and date.
Book from the opening meeting to the closing meeting, and add time for the worker interviews, since each answer is interpreted too. The interpreter is reserved for the whole booking, so unused time is not refunded.
You can ask for it in the booking notes. A booking is for the service, not for a particular interpreter, so we take the request into account and assign them when they are available.
At least 48 to 72 hours ahead, and earlier if you can.
70 languages. Spanish, Vietnamese, Mandarin, Arabic and Haitian Creole are the easiest to schedule, and rare languages need more notice.
By language
One page per language, with the varieties we confirm at booking, the register the session needs and where that language is booked most.
