Video (VRI)
At the booked time the interpreter opens your link as a guest, and remains on it until the booked hours are over.

The interpreter joins the call between a legal aid attorney and a client who speaks another language, with papers shared on screen.

The interpreter joins consultations where the attorney screens a client's options and explains what happens next.

Online programs
Nonprofits use video when staff and clients take part from different places, and when no interpreter for the client's language works nearby. The interpreter joins as a guest from anywhere in the US, on the platform your program already uses. Legal aid, case management, counseling and telehealth visits all run this way, each on the link you add to the booking. A group session works the same way, with one language per interpreter.

The client joins with the staff member who leads the meeting, who may be an attorney, a case manager, a counselor or a clinician. A family member can join from the same screen or from another one. The interpreter joins the link as a guest and interprets between the client and everyone who speaks English.
In each meeting the interpreter works so that the client follows what staff say as easily as in their own language, and staff hear the client's own words. Both sides are interpreted in full, in the first person. The interpreter is neutral and keeps the session confidential. They do not advise the client, answer for the organization or comment on a program's decisions.
In an online meeting
Add the meeting link to each booking in the dashboard, since each attorney or case manager may use a different link. If you have none, we create a Texliff room that opens in the browser, which suits a client who has no account on any platform.
On-site, video or phone
Video suits meetings where staff and clients are not in the same place. Other settings suit other appointments.

Book in person for clinic days, exams and appointments where forms are filled in together at the table.
On-Site Interpretation for Nonprofit Organizations
Video fits case meetings, consultations and telehealth visits where papers are shown on screen.

Phone fits quick check-ins and eligibility questions, when the client has no video.

Your organization can order certified translations into English with the same login, as PDFs priced by word count.

FAQ
The ones we hear most often, answered by our dispatch and project-management teams.
Can't find it here?
The interpreter joins as a guest on Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Google Meet or the Texliff room. For telehealth, if the clinic's platform cannot add a guest, we create a link.
Sessions are not recorded unless you ask. Connections are encrypted, every session is covered by an NDA, and telehealth and counseling sessions are handled in line with HIPAA, with a BAA available.
No. One booking is for English and one other language, so a session with two other languages needs two bookings that share the same link.
You can ask for it in the booking notes. A booking is for the service, not for a particular interpreter, so we take the request into account and assign them when they are available.
The price is by the hour, and the total shows before you pay. Unused time is not refunded, so book the whole meeting, including the part where staff explain forms.
70 languages. Spanish, Mandarin, Korean, Tagalog, Portuguese and French are the easiest to schedule. Rare languages such as Pashto need more notice.
Yes. Court-certified and medically credentialed Dari interpreters are assigned to legal and clinical matters — Federal Court Interpreter Certification, state court rosters, CCHI / NBCMI for medical. For community, educational and corporate settings we assign professionally trained interpreters matched to the subject.
