FAQ
Answers about simultaneous interpretation.
The ones we hear most often, answered by our dispatch and project-management teams.
Can't find it here?
01What is simultaneous interpretation?
Interpreters render the speech into another language in real time, with about a 2–4 second delay. The speaker never pauses; listeners hear the translation through a headset, the conference channel, or an in-app language selector.
02Do you handle on-site, remote, or both?
Both. We deliver on-site simultaneous with ISO-grade booths and receivers, Remote Simultaneous Interpretation (RSI) into Zoom Webinar / Teams Live / Webex / our Texliff Stage, and hybrid setups where in-room and remote audiences both get the channel feed.
03How many interpreters do I need per language?
Two per language pair. Simultaneous is intense cognitive work — the AIIC standard is rotation every 20–30 minutes for any session over an hour. We staff to that standard automatically.
04How far in advance should I book?
For conferences, board meetings, and livestreams, 3–6 weeks is ideal. Tight turnarounds (1–2 weeks) are workable for tier-1 languages and smaller events. Multilingual events with rare languages need the full window so the right interpreters are blocked off.
05Do you provide the equipment?
Yes. Booths, transmitters, receivers, headsets, and an on-site tech for in-person events. For RSI, you use Zoom / Teams / Webex / our Stage — no equipment to ship.
06How many languages can run at once?
Routinely 4–12 simultaneous channels per event; we have run 18-language UN-style events. Each channel is a separate audio stream with its own interpreter pair.
07How is recording handled?
On request. Each channel can be recorded as a separate audio file with timestamped event markers, and we can deliver post-event captions or transcripts in any of the channel languages.
08Which languages do you cover?
Over 100 languages, with full simultaneous capability in all major conference languages — Spanish, Mandarin, Arabic, Russian, French, German, Portuguese, Japanese, Korean, Italian, Hindi — plus regional and rare languages with longer planning windows.
