Typical Pachto bookings
Calls dental offices book
Most calls from a dental office are about the schedule, the cost or healing. Dentists book an interpreter for each of the three below.
The front desk calls a patient to book, confirm or move a visit, and the interpreter interprets between the staff and the patient.
Apèl tipik
The office walks through a price and the insurance coverage, and the interpreter interprets each figure and each question from the patient.
Apèl tipik
An assistant calls after a procedure to ask how the patient is healing, and the interpreter interprets the questions and answers.

Dental phone calls
Dental offices use the phone for calls that need no picture, such as booking a visit, going over an estimate or checking on a patient after a procedure. Such calls happen around the treatment, not in the chair, so the interpreter can dial in from anywhere in the US. A dentist who wants to see the area that hurts books a video call instead.

A staff member from the front desk or the dental team calls about a visit, an estimate or healing, and talks with the patient, who answers and asks questions. A parent may listen in on a child's call. The interpreter interprets for each person on the line in turn, whether the topic is a visit, a figure or a symptom.
Without a picture, the interpreter waits until the speaker finishes a part, then interprets it. Prices, insurance terms and appointment times are interpreted exactly as said, and the patient's reply is interpreted back in full. The interpreter gives no advice or opinion about treatment or insurance, and keeps the call confidential.
On an estimate call
Figures and insurance terms need to be exact, so send the written estimate to the patient before the call if you can. Both sides then follow the same numbers. Add the treatment names and the plan details to the booking notes, so the interpreter can prepare. On an estimate call each figure is said twice, so allow time for the patient's questions.
Sou plas, pa videyo oswa pa telefòn
Phone suits conversations around the visit, not the treatment itself. Choose another setting when the patient has to be seen.

Book an interpreter in the office for the visit itself, and use the phone for the calls around it.
Entèpretasyon sou plas pou dantis
Video suits a consultation where the dentist wants to show the plan or see the patient.
Entèpretasyon a distans pa videyo pou dantis
Phone suits calls about appointments, estimates, insurance and healing after a procedure.

FAQ
Sa yo nou tande pi souvan, reponn pa ekip dispatch ak jesyon pwojè nou yo.
Ou pa jwenn sa w ap chèche a?
No. Any phone works, including a landline, because the patient only dials a number and enters the access code.
Yes. Pass the dial-in details to the parent, or the interpreter can add the parent once the office and the patient are on the line.
Yes. If the dentist needs to see the patient, we can change the booking to video, subject to the interpreter's availability.
Calls are not recorded unless you ask. The interpreter works under an NDA, and a BAA is available for healthcare customers.
The price follows the time you book, shown as a total before you pay. A short appointment call needs little time, but an estimate call with questions needs more.
