Calls clinics book
Clinics book a phone interpreter for the short calls around a patient's care. Where a call type has a page of its own, the card links to it.
Some patients have no video or no data, and the clinician holds the visit by phone with the interpreter on the line.

Clinic calls
Clinics use the phone for short conversations in which nobody has to see the patient, such as a test result, a medication question or a scheduling call. A patient with no video or no data can also have an audio-only visit. The interpreter dials in from anywhere in the US, which helps when no interpreter for the language works near the clinic.

The doctor, nurse or scheduler who is making or taking the call is on the line with the patient, and the scheduler books and confirms visits. The patient answers and asks questions, and a relative may listen from another place. Once the clinic and the patient are on the line, the interpreter can add a third party, such as a relative or another provider.
The interpreter cannot rely on a picture, so each speaker finishes a part before the interpreter interprets it. The patient's reply is interpreted back in full, and doses and instructions are interpreted exactly as spoken. The interpreter does not advise the patient or comment on the result, and keeps the call confidential.
On a medication call
The dial-in number and the access code are in the confirmation, so send both to the patient with the time of the call. The interpreter is reserved for the whole booking, and unused time is not refunded, so confirm the time with the patient first. On a medication call every question and answer is said twice, so allow room for the patient's own questions.
Sou plas, pa videyo oswa pa telefòn
Phone fits short conversations in which nothing has to be seen. Choose another setting when it does.

Book an interpreter in the exam room when the patient has to be examined.
Entèpretasyon sou plas pou klinik medikal
Video suits a visit where the doctor needs to see the patient, such as a rash or a healing wound.
Entèpretasyon a distans pa videyo pou klinik medikal
Phone suits results, medication questions and scheduling, and audio-only visits for patients without video.

Ou pa jwenn sa w ap chèche a?
A phone, the dial-in number and the access code from the confirmation. There is no app to install and no link to open.
Yes, if the clinician decides the patient needs to be seen. Ask us to change the booking to video, which depends on the interpreter's availability.
Yes. Book it like any other call, for the time the therapist plans, and ask for the same interpreter if the client has one already.
Not with the same interpreter. A booking is for English and one other language, so a third language needs a second booking.
Phone calls are charged by the booked time, and the total shows before you pay. Book the length of the call you expect plus a few minutes, because the interpreter is reserved for the whole booking.
