Meetings held by video
Immigration attorneys hold six kinds of meetings by video, from a first consultation to a declaration that is read back to the client.
The interpreter joins your intake or strategy consultation, so a client in another city can meet you without traveling.
Typical sessions
The interpreter stays through the meeting while you update the client and go over papers on screen.
Typical sessions
The interpreter joins when you speak with a person who may give an account for the case and lives somewhere else.
Typical sessions
The interpreter interprets while you write the client's declaration, and again when you read it back for the client's review.
Typical sessions
Before an interview at a USCIS office, you can go through the process and the likely questions with your client and an interpreter.
Typical sessions
The interpreter joins when a petitioner or sponsor speaks another language and lives in a different state from your client.

Remote consultations
Video is used when the attorney and the client take part from different places, and when no interpreter for the client's language works near your office. The interpreter joins your link as a guest from anywhere in the US, so a consultation can start without anyone traveling. Consultations, client meetings, declaration sessions and witness interviews all run this way. Interviews at a USCIS office are the exception, since those are booked as on-site sessions.

The attorney leads the meeting in English, and the client answers in their own language. A paralegal may join to take notes, and a petitioner or relative who is part of the case can join from another location. The interpreter joins the same link as a guest and interprets for everyone on the call.
The interpreter's job is to make the consultation as clear as it would be if attorney and client spoke the same language. The advice and the answers are interpreted in full, in both directions, with nothing summarized or left out. The interpreter does not give legal advice, opinions or explanations of their own, and keeps what they hear confidential.
Drafting
Reading it back
When you prepare a written declaration, the client tells their account and the interpreter interprets it for you to write down. Once the draft is done, you read it back and the interpreter interprets each part for the client to review. Both the drafting and the read-back are interpreted, so book time for each.
On-site, video or phone
Video suits most of the work with a client before and after an interview. The interview itself, and some visits, call for another setting.

Book in person for USCIS interviews, which are on-site only with Texliff, and for longer meetings at your office.
On-Site Interpretation for Immigration Attorneys
Video fits consultations, declaration sessions and case meetings where the client and the attorney are in different places.

Phone fits a first call, a request for papers or a quick update, when no page has to be shown.

The interpreter joins as a guest on Zoom, Microsoft Teams or Google Meet. If you want a link we create, the Texliff room works too.
Yes, with a Texliff room link. It opens in the browser, so the client can join without installing an app.
No. One booking is for English and one other language, so book one session per language. Both sessions can use the same link.
Sessions are not recorded unless you ask. Connections are encrypted, and an NDA applies to every session.
The rate is per hour, and the total shows before you pay. Book a little more than you plan, because everything is interpreted in both directions and unused time is not refunded.
70 languages. Spanish, Mandarin, Arabic, Haitian Creole, Russian and Korean are the easiest to schedule. Languages with few interpreters, such as Burmese or Pashto, need more notice.
Yes. Court-certified and medically credentialed Turkish interpreters are assigned to legal and clinical matters — Federal Court Interpreter Certification, state court rosters, CCHI / NBCMI for medical.
