Video interpreters for recorded statements, from the opening to photos and forms on screen
The interpreter interprets every part of a statement. Four parts show what the adjuster goes through on a video call.
The opening
At the start, the interpreter is identified on the recording, before the first question. The interpreter then interprets the adjuster's opening questions in full, and the person's answers go back into English in the first person.
What happened
The adjuster asks how the loss happened, when and where. Each question and answer is interpreted, so the recording holds the person's own account in the order the person tells it.
Injuries and treatment
When someone was hurt, the adjuster asks about the injury, the doctors and the treatment so far. A list of the providers in the claim file helps the interpreter prepare.
Photos and documents
On video, the adjuster can show a photo or a form on screen and ask about it. The interpreter interprets the questions about what is shown and the answers.

When video is used
A recorded statement is taken by video when the adjuster wants to see the person, or to show a photo or a form while asking about it. The adjuster sends a link, and the person joins from a phone, a tablet or a computer. Video also helps when the person lives far away or speaks a language with no interpreter nearby, since our interpreters join from anywhere in the US.
Who takes part
The adjuster or investigator leads the questions and makes the recording. The insured person, the claimant or a witness answers on the same call. An attorney or a public adjuster sometimes joins to listen. The interpreter joins as a guest and is identified at the start of the recording.

The interpreter's role
The interpreter's job is to put the person's words on the recording as the person said them. Each question goes into the person's language and each answer into English, in the first person, so a transcript reads as the person's own statement. Nothing is left out, softened or added. The interpreter is neutral, keeps the call confidential, and does not tell the person how to answer.

The link and the recording
Add the adjuster's meeting link to the booking, and say in the notes that the call will be recorded. The adjuster makes the recording, and Texliff does not record the session unless you ask. If the adjuster has no link yet, add it to the project later, or ask for a Texliff room that opens in the browser.
On-site, video or phone
Choosing between video, phone and on-site for a recorded statement
Video suits a statement where the adjuster wants a face or a photo on screen. The other settings fit the cases below.
On-site
Book an interpreter in person when the person has no device for video, or the adjuster takes the statement at a home or an office.

Questions about video interpreters for recorded statements
The ones we hear most often, answered by our dispatch and project-management teams.
Can't find it here?
01Can the interpreter join the adjuster's meeting link?
Yes. Add the link to the booking, and the interpreter joins as a guest on Zoom, Microsoft Teams or Google Meet. With no link, we create a Texliff room and add it to the project.
02Does the person giving the statement need to install anything?
Not with a Texliff room link, which opens in the browser. A link from your own platform works the way it does for any guest.
03What if the person does not show up or the statement is moved?
Cancellation is in writing. You get a full refund more than seven days before, 75% between seven days and 48 hours before, and no refund in the last 48 hours.
04How is a video statement priced?
By the hour, for the hours you book, and the total shows before you pay. Book more time than the same statement would take in English, because every question and answer is said twice and unused time is not refunded.
05What if the person has no device for video?
Book a phone interpreter instead, and everyone dials in from any phone. When the adjuster can visit, an interpreter in person works as well.
06Which languages do you interpret for statements?
70 languages. Spanish, Mandarin, Arabic, Russian and Portuguese are among the easiest to schedule, and rare languages such as Burmese or Pashto need more notice.
07Are your Gujarati interpreters certified?
Yes. Court-certified and medically credentialed Gujarati interpreters are assigned to legal and clinical matters — Federal Court Interpreter Certification, state court rosters, CCHI / NBCMI for medical. For community, educational and corporate settings we assign professionally trained interpreters matched to the subject.
