Typical Italyen bookings
When phone works
A phone call suits a business question that can be settled by talking and does not need a screen. Three kinds of calls fit well.
A buyer calls a supplier about the status of an order, a change in quantity or a shipping question. The answers are spoken facts, so the call needs no screen.
An account manager calls a customer to ask how a delivery went or to confirm a renewal date. The customer dials in from wherever they are.
Before a visit, the two companies settle the date, the agenda and who will attend. Put the dates you want to propose in the booking notes, and book the time the call needs.
Business calls
A business question goes by phone when it is short and nobody needs to see anything, such as a question about an order or a delivery date. Phone also suits people who cannot join a video call, for example someone on the road or at a site without a good connection. Longer meetings, and meetings with slides or drawings, are held by video or in person instead.

A manager from your company leads the call and speaks for the company. The supplier or customer on the other end speaks the other language. Each of them dials in from any phone, and so does the interpreter. Once everyone is on the line, the interpreter can add a third party to the call, such as a colleague at another office.
There is no video, so the pauses between speakers are how everyone knows whose turn it is. One person speaks and stops, and the interpreter then says that part in the other language in full. The interpreter stays neutral between the companies, keeps the call confidential, and does not give opinions, advice or explanations of their own.
Before the call
On the call
Order numbers, part numbers, dates and prices are hard to follow by ear, so list them in the booking notes. Anything that has to be seen, such as a drawing or a price sheet, should be emailed to the other side before the call, because nothing can be shown on the line.
Sou plas, pa videyo oswa pa telefòn
Phone works for a call that only needs voices. Choose video or an interpreter in the room when people need to see something or each other.

Book an interpreter in the room for a trade show booth or a meeting that fills most of a day.
Entèpretasyon sou plas pou reyinyon biznis
Video is better when the call needs slides or a shared screen, or when it is a full meeting with several people.
Entèpretasyon a distans pa videyo pou reyinyon biznis
Phone fits a short call about an order, a delivery or a date, when each person can dial in from where they are.

The other company's financial statements, translated into English and emailed to your team before the call.
A manual for the product under discussion, translated into English so your team can look up a part number during the call.
A supply contract in another language, translated into English, to keep at hand while the call settles a question on it.
FAQ
Sa yo nou tande pi souvan, reponn pa ekip dispatch ak jesyon pwojè nou yo.
Ou pa jwenn sa w ap chèche a?
No. Everyone dials in from any phone, using the number and the access code in your confirmation.
We can change the booking to a video session, subject to the interpreter's availability. Everyone then joins a video link instead of dialing in.
You do. The number and the access code are in your dashboard, so you can send them to the supplier or customer before the call.
By the time you book, and the total shows before you pay. Book longer than the call would take in one language, so the line stays open until the last point is settled.
We record a call only when you ask for it. The interpreter is under an NDA, as in every session, and connections are encrypted.
