Typical Bosnyen bookings
Calls insurers book
Claims units book these calls for an adjuster, a claimant and anyone else who needs to join. Name the kind of call when you book, and add the claim number to the notes.
The adjuster books a call with a policyholder reporting a loss, and the interpreter interprets the details in both directions.
Apèl tipik
Phone is the most common setting for a statement, with the interpreter on the adjuster's recorded line and named at the start.
Apèl tipik
Some examiners take the history by phone, and a medically credentialed interpreter joins that call.
Apèl tipik
A court-certified interpreter joins the calls on a workers' compensation case, within what the board or the judge allows.
Apèl tipik
Disability insurers book intake and history calls with claimants who speak another language, before or after the evaluation.
Apèl tipik
The adjuster explains a decision or a settlement offer, and the interpreter interprets the explanation and the questions that follow.

Claims by phone
Phone is used when a claim step needs no one to see a place, a document or an injury. A first report, a status update and a recorded statement can all be done by phone, and a claimant may have a phone but no video. The interpreter dials in from anywhere in the US, so a language with no interpreter near the claimant is still possible.

The adjuster or investigator dials in and asks the questions. The claimant or policyholder answers in their own language. For an examination intake call, the examiner's office takes the history. The interpreter is on the line as well, and can add a third party, such as a witness or a public adjuster, once everyone has dialed in.
The interpreter's job is to make the call as clear to the claimant as it is to the adjuster. Because nobody can see who is speaking, each person speaks in turn and pauses for the interpreter. Every question and answer is interpreted in full and in the first person. The interpreter works for neither the insurer nor the claimant, keeps the call confidential and does not comment on the claim.
On a recorded line
If the adjuster records the call, the interpreter is named at the start of the recording and interprets in the first person, so the recording holds the claimant's own words. Add the claim number and the names of everyone who will join to the booking notes, because nothing can be shown on screen during a call.
Sou plas, pa videyo oswa pa telefòn
Phone needs only a phone, and nothing can be shown on it. Choose by whether the call has to show anything.

Book an interpreter in person for a damage inspection or a physical examination.
Entèpretasyon sou plas pou konpayi asirans
Video is better for an examination by telemedicine, or when the adjuster shares photos and forms on screen.
Entèpretasyon a distans pa videyo pou konpayi asirans
Phone fits first reports, status calls and recorded statements, when voices are enough.

Medical records from clinics abroad, translated and sent to the examiner ahead of the intake call.
Affidavits and messages from the claimant, translated into English so the adjuster can refer to them by page.
Financial statements and company records for a business claim, translated before the statement is taken.

Ou pa jwenn sa w ap chèche a?
Name the interpreter in the booking notes. We book the service rather than a particular person, so we take the request into account and assign them when they are available.
Ask the claimant to speak in short parts and pause for the interpreter. Send the number and access code ahead, with the time of the call.
No. A basic phone is enough, because the confirmation lists the number to call and the code to enter.
Each state board and each judge decides whether a hearing may be held by phone. Tell us the state, the board and the type of hearing when you book.
By the time you book, and the total shows before you pay. Book a little longer than you expect for a recorded statement, because every question and answer is said twice.
