Video interpreters for insurance claims on auto, property, workers' compensation and liability claims
Adjusters book a video interpreter when the claimant speaks another language and the claim is worked from a desk. Add the claim number and the type of loss to the notes, and they reach the interpreter before the call.
Auto claims
Adjusters talk to drivers, passengers and vehicle owners about how an accident happened and what damage the car has. The interpreter interprets the questions and the answers in full, including dates, places and the names of the other drivers.
Property claims
The owner or tenant tells the adjuster what a fire, storm or leak damaged and what was lost, item by item. The interpreter interprets each item in full, including quantities and dates.
Workers' compensation claims
An injured worker explains the job, the injury and the treatment to the adjuster or the claims examiner. Medical terms come up often, so a list of the providers in the file helps the interpreter prepare.
Liability claims
A person who was hurt or lost property makes a claim against a policyholder. The adjuster talks to both, and the interpreter works for whichever one speaks another language.
Video claim calls
What to know about video claim calls with an interpreter
When video is used
A claim is often worked remotely, with the adjuster in an office and the claimant at home. Video is chosen when both want to look at photos, estimates or a damaged item together. It is also chosen when the claimant lives far from the adjuster, or speaks a language with no interpreter nearby, since our interpreters join from anywhere in the US. The adjuster sends the meeting link, or you add one to the booking.
Who takes part
The adjuster asks questions about the loss and the claim, and the claimant or policyholder answers. A public adjuster or an attorney sometimes joins to speak for the claimant. Everyone keeps speaking in their own language, and the interpreter interprets each part for the other side.

The interpreter's role
The interpreter is there so the call is as clear as it would be in one language. Each question goes into the claimant's language and each answer into English, in full and in the first person. The speaker pauses after each part, and the interpreter then says it. The interpreter is neutral, keeps what they hear confidential, and does not explain a policy or give an opinion on the claim.

Photos and documents
Share the photos, the repair estimate or the proof of loss on screen while you talk about them, so the claimant and the adjuster look at the same page. For a claim with many items, add a list of them to the booking notes, and it reaches the interpreter before the call.
On-site, video or phone
Choosing between video, on-site and phone for an insurance claim
Video suits claims worked from a desk that need photos or papers on screen. Another setting is better in the cases below.
On-site
Book an interpreter in person when the adjuster visits damage at a property, or when the claimant cannot use video.

Questions about video interpreters for insurance claims
The ones we hear most often, answered by our dispatch and project-management teams.
Can't find it here?
01Is the call recorded?
We do not record the call unless you ask. If your own team records claim calls, say so in the booking notes.
02Can we use our own company's meeting link?
Yes. Add the link to the booking and the interpreter joins as a guest. If you have none, we create a Texliff room link that opens in the browser.
03What if the claimant cannot join a video call?
Book a phone interpreter instead. The claimant needs only a phone, and everyone dials in with the access code in the confirmation.
04How is a video claim call priced?
By the hour, for the hours you book, and the total shows before you pay. Book enough time for the whole call, since unused time is not refunded and every question and answer is said twice.
05Can the claimant keep the same interpreter on every call?
Name the interpreter in the booking notes. We book the service rather than a particular person, so we take the request into account and assign them when they are available.
06Which languages do you interpret for claims?
70 languages. Spanish, Portuguese, Haitian Creole, Arabic and Korean are among the easiest to schedule, and rare languages such as Burmese or Pashto need more notice.
07Are your Thai interpreters certified?
Yes. Court-certified and medically credentialed Thai interpreters are assigned to legal and clinical matters — Federal Court Interpreter Certification, state court rosters, CCHI / NBCMI for medical. For community, educational and corporate settings we assign professionally trained interpreters matched to the subject.
