Agency bookings in person
Agencies book an interpreter in person when the witness will sit with the reporter, whether in the agency's deposition room, at a law office or at another address in the notice. We look for interpreters closest to the address first. Travel inside the interpreter's metro area is part of the hourly rate, and a trip beyond it is quoted as its own line. For a language with few interpreters nearby, the interpreter may come from another city.

Your reporter sits at the table, swears in the interpreter and then the witness, and writes down the English record. The attorneys ask their questions, and the witness answers through the interpreter, who sits next to them. At a workers' compensation hearing, the judge runs the room and the hearing reporter takes the record.
The interpreter works in the first person, so the witness's own words go into your record and the transcript reads as the witness spoke. Each part is interpreted in full, in both directions, and the interpreter waits for the speaker to pause. The interpreter does not take a side and keeps the testimony confidential. They do not coach the witness, explain a question or offer an opinion.
At your table
Put the address, the suite or room, parking and the check-in steps in the booking notes, and name the person at the front desk if there is one. Add your reporter's name and the witness's name, so the interpreter knows who to ask for at check-in. The interpreter reads the notes before the day.
Sou plas, pa videyo oswa pa telefòn
An interpreter at the table is the usual choice when the witness sits in the room with your reporter. Video and phone fit the cases below.

Choose in person when the witness comes to your room and the reporter works from the same table.

Video works when the attorneys or the witness are in other cities and the platform is ready.
Entèpretasyon a distans pa videyo pou ajans stenografi tribinal
Phone is not used for depositions. Book on-site or video for the assignments your reporters cover.

Cancellation is in writing. More than seven days before the session, the refund is in full. Between seven days and 48 hours before, it is 75%, and closer to the session than that there is no refund.
Name the interpreter in the booking notes. We book the service rather than a particular person, so we take the request into account and assign them when they are available.
Each booked hour has a price, and the total shows before you pay. Book the time the witness is scheduled plus the extra time interpreting takes, because the interpreter is reserved for the whole booking.
At least 48 to 72 hours ahead, and earlier if you can.
70 languages. Spanish, Korean, Russian and Haitian Creole are the easiest to schedule in large metro areas. A rare language, or an address far from a large city, needs more notice.
