Typical Urdu bookings
When in person
The adjuster comes to the person in the situations below. The interpreter reports to the address in the booking, so tell us the address and the room or unit.
A person recovering from surgery or an injury may be at home or in a care facility. The adjuster takes the statement where the person is, and the interpreter comes to that address.
When a home or a business was damaged, the adjuster may take the owner's statement while looking at the damage. The interpreter sits with the owner through the recording.
After an injury at work, the adjuster may take the worker's statement at the workplace or in a nearby office. Tell us the site's check-in steps when you book.
A person with no phone or computer can still give a statement when the adjuster comes to them. The interpreter is with them from the first question to the last.
Statements in person
Most recorded statements are taken by phone or video, so an adjuster who comes in person has a reason, such as a person who cannot travel or has no phone or computer. The interpreter reports to the address in the booking and sits with the person while the adjuster records. If no interpreter for the language lives nearby, one may travel from another city, and the quote shows that trip before you pay.

The adjuster or investigator asks the questions and starts the recording. The insured person, the claimant or a witness answers. A family member or an attorney may be present. The interpreter sits with the person and is identified on the recording at the start, before the first question.
With a recorder running, the interpreter's English is what the recording holds. The interpreter therefore interprets every question and every answer in full, in the first person, and does not summarize. The interpreter is neutral, adds nothing, leaves nothing out, and gives no advice on what to say.
On the recording
A recording picks up background noise, so a quiet room helps both the adjuster and the interpreter. The interpreter's words are what the recording holds, so the statement runs longer than one in English, and the booking should allow for it. Add the entrance and the name of the person to ask for to the booking notes.
On-site, video or phone
Most statements are taken by phone. An interpreter in the room is for the cases below.

In person fits a person who cannot travel, has no phone or video device, or gives the statement at the place of the loss.

Video suits a statement where the adjuster wants to show a photo or a form on screen.
Video-Remote Interpretation for Recorded Statements
Phone suits a statement that is only questions and answers, taken on the adjuster's recorded line.

FAQ
The ones we hear most often, answered by our dispatch and project-management teams.
Can't find it here?
Yes. Tell us the facility and the room or unit when you book. The facility sets its visitor rules, and you get the interpreter's name before the day to give to the front desk.
No. The adjuster makes the recording. We do not record a session unless you ask.
Per hour, for the hours you book, and the total shows before you pay. Book more time than the same statement would take in English, so the recording does not stop in the middle of an answer.
You can ask for it in the booking notes. A booking is for the service, not for a particular interpreter, so we take the request into account and assign them when they are available.
At least 48 to 72 hours ahead, and earlier if you can.
70 languages. Spanish, Vietnamese, Korean, Haitian Creole and Tagalog are the easiest to schedule in large metro areas. Rare languages such as Burmese or Pashto, and addresses outside the large metros, need more notice.
Yes. Court-certified and medically credentialed Urdu interpreters are assigned to legal and clinical matters — Federal Court Interpreter Certification, state court rosters, CCHI / NBCMI for medical. For community, educational and corporate settings we assign professionally trained interpreters matched to the subject.
