Où nous interprétons

On-site interpreters for business meetings in conference rooms, at delegation visits and at trade show booths

An interpreter reports to one address and works there. Business meetings that we interpret in person are held in one of three kinds of places, and each card says what to put in the booking notes.

Office conference rooms

A meeting at a company's office is booked to that office's street address. Put the floor and the room name in the booking notes, along with where visitors check in.

Delegation visits

When a delegation visits from abroad, the interpreter works at the address where the meeting is held. Give us that address, and add the names of the visitors and the agenda to the booking notes.

Trade show booths

A booth is one address, so the interpreter stays there and interprets your conversations with visitors who speak another language. Put the hall and the booth number in the booking notes.

In-person meetings

What to know about in-person business meetings with an interpreter

When the interpreter comes in person

Business meetings are held in person, in a conference room at one of the companies. An interpreter is booked in person when visitors from another country come to the office, or when people at a trade show booth meet visitors who speak another language. Everyone is in the same room, so the interpreter sits with the group and speaks each part in the other language when the speaker pauses.

Who takes part

The hosts are managers from your company, who lead the meeting and speak for it. The visitors come from the supplier, customer or partner and speak the other language. Colleagues join for the part of the agenda that concerns them. The interpreter is in the room with all of them and interprets for whoever is speaking.

The interpreter's role

The interpreter's job is to let both sides talk as they would if they shared a language. When a person finishes a part, the interpreter says all of it in the other language without shortening it, and does the same for each reply. They stay neutral between the two companies, keep the content of the meeting to themselves, and leave opinions, advice and explanations to the people at the table.

One booking, one day

First meetingTime betweenSecond meeting

Several meetings in one booking

A visit by a delegation can fill a day with meetings at one address. Book one block of hours that includes all of them, and list the meetings and their start times in the booking notes. The interpreter is reserved for the whole booking, so the time between meetings is part of the price.

Sur place, par vidéo ou par téléphone

Choosing between on-site, video and phone for a business meeting

An interpreter in the room suits meetings where both sides sit together. Video or phone works when they do not.

FAQ

Questions about on-site interpreters for business meetings

Celles que nous entendons le plus souvent, auxquelles répondent nos équipes de répartition et de gestion de projet.

Vous ne trouvez pas la réponse ?

01The meeting is at the other company's office. Can you still send an interpreter?

Yes. Enter the address of the office where the meeting is held, whichever company it belongs to, and we look for interpreters closest to that address first.

02Can we give the interpreter's name to building security before the day?

Yes. The name is sent to you before the day, so you can add it to the visitor list or tell the front desk who to expect.

03How is an in-person meeting priced?

The rate is by the hour, and the total for the hours you book shows before you pay. Book the full length of the visit, because the interpreter is reserved for the whole booking and unused time is not refunded.

04Which languages can we book an interpreter in?

70 languages. Mandarin, Spanish, Korean, Vietnamese and Portuguese are the easiest to schedule. Rare languages, and meetings outside large metro areas, need more notice.

05How far ahead should we book?

At least 48 to 72 hours ahead, and earlier if you can.

06What happens if the visit is rescheduled?

Cancellation is in writing. A full refund applies more than seven days before the meeting, 75% between seven days and 48 hours before, and no refund in the last 48 hours.

07Vos interprètes en Tagalog sont-ils certifiés ?

Oui.
