Where caseworkers book
A caseworker books the address where the client will be, whether an office or a home. A card with a link opens that session's page for in-person visits.
At the county or agency office, the interpreter sits next to the client while the caseworker goes through the application and the proof documents.
Rendez-vous types
The interpreter reports to the client's address and sits with the family while the caseworker asks questions and goes over the next steps.
Rendez-vous types
The interpreter sits with the parents or caregivers while the caseworker asks questions, and a family member never interprets.
Rendez-vous types
A therapist and a client meet at a community mental health center, and the same interpreter can be requested for every session.
Rendez-vous types
The caseworker, the family and the other members of the team meet to make a plan, and the interpreter sits with the parent so the plan is understood.
Rendez-vous types
A caseworker or a school staff member goes through registration with a newly arrived family, and the interpreter sits with the parent.

Visits in person
Social services visits are often held face to face, at a county office, at a community agency or at the family's home. An interpreter who sits in the room lets the caseworker and the client talk to each other directly, so nobody in the family has to interpret for the others. An agency that receives federal funds must provide language help to the clients who need it, and the interpreter comes to whatever address the visit is held at.

A caseworker or an eligibility worker runs the visit, asks the questions and goes through the forms with the client. The client or the parent answers. At a counseling session, a therapist sees the client instead. Other family members may take part in some visits, such as a meeting about a plan. The interpreter sits next to the client.
The interpreter's job is to make the visit as clear for the client as it is for the caseworker, so the questions, the forms and the next steps are all understood. Nothing is shortened, and the interpreter does not skip a hard question or soften an answer. The interpreter takes no side, keeps everything confidential, and does not give advice or explain the agency's decisions.
At a visit
Each booking is for one address, so an office appointment and a home visit are two bookings with their own start times. For a home visit, add the names of the people who will be there and where to park. For an office visit, add the room and the check-in steps, and name the forms the caseworker will go through, so the interpreter can read the terms first.
Sur place, par vidéo ou par téléphone
A caseworker who is with the client can have the interpreter in the room. Video and phone fit when the people are apart.

An interpreter at the address suits eligibility appointments, home visits and family meetings, where the client is with the caseworker in person.

Video fits case planning with people in different offices, or a client who cannot travel to the agency.
Interprétation à distance par vidéo pour services sociaux
Phone fits an eligibility interview held by phone, and quick calls to collect a document or set a time.

FAQ
Celles que nous entendons le plus souvent, auxquelles répondent nos équipes de répartition et de gestion de projet.
Vous ne trouvez pas la réponse ?
Yes. Enter the home address as the venue when you book, and the interpreter reports to that address.
Not on one booking. Each home is its own session with its own address and start time, and the interpreter interprets at that address.
A family member should not interpret at a child welfare interview. Book an interpreter for the family, so the parents are heard in their own words.
You can ask for it in the booking notes. A booking is for the service, not for a particular interpreter, so we take the request into account and assign them when they are available.
Hours booked set the price, and you see the total before paying. Book the whole appointment slot, because the interpreter is reserved for it and unused time is not refunded.

Oui.
