Interprète adapté au contexte

Our dispatcher matches the interpreter to the session. Legal aid gets a court-certified interpreter, telehealth a medically credentialed one, and case management an interpreter experienced in that kind of meeting. You see the name before it starts.

What to know about video interpreters for nonprofit organizations

When video is used

Nonprofits use video when staff and clients take part from different places, and when no interpreter for the client's language works nearby. The interpreter joins as a guest from anywhere in the US, on the platform your program already uses. Legal aid, case management, counseling and telehealth visits all run this way, each on the link you add to the booking. A group session works the same way, with one language per interpreter.

Who is on the call

The client joins with the staff member who leads the meeting, who may be an attorney, a case manager, a counselor or a clinician. A family member can join from the same screen or from another one. The interpreter joins the link as a guest and interprets between the client and everyone who speaks English.

The interpreter's role

In each meeting the interpreter works so that the client follows what staff say as easily as in their own language, and staff hear the client's own words. Both sides are interpreted in full, in the first person. The interpreter is neutral and keeps the session confidential. They do not advise the client, answer for the organization or comment on a program's decisions.

Links for each session

Add the meeting link to each booking in the dashboard, since each attorney or case manager may use a different link. If you have none, we create a Texliff room that opens in the browser, which suits a client who has no account on any platform.

Choosing between video, on-site and phone for nonprofit work

Video suits meetings where staff and clients are not in the same place. Other settings suit other appointments.

Comment ça marche

How nonprofits book a video interpreter

  1. Indiquez vos besoins et obtenez votre devis instantané

Enter the date, start time, platform, the client's language and the kind of session. The price for the booked hours shows right away.

  2. Passez commande

Pay online to confirm. The booking opens in your dashboard, where staff add the meeting link and notes such as the client's first name and the type of case.

  3. Le dispatcheur se lance et affecte un interprète

Our dispatcher assigns an interpreter matched to the session and confirms the name to you.

  4. Rejoignez votre séance

The interpreter joins your link as a guest at the booked time. Without a link, we create a Texliff room and add its address to the project.

Ce que vous recevez

  • The interpreter's name, with the credentials that fit the session, before it starts.
  • Your meeting link kept in the project, or a Texliff room link that opens in a browser.
  • Every booking in your organization's dashboard, with a confirmation by email.

Chaque fichier et chaque séance sont couverts par un NDA et transmis via une connexion chiffrée. Les dossiers cliniques sont traités conformément à la HIPAA.

FAQ

Questions from nonprofits about video interpreters

Celles que nous entendons le plus souvent, auxquelles répondent nos équipes de répartition et de gestion de projet.

Vous ne trouvez pas la réponse ?

01Which platforms can the interpreter join?

The interpreter joins as a guest on Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Google Meet or the Texliff room. For telehealth, if the clinic's platform cannot add a guest, we create a link.

02Is the session recorded?

Sessions are not recorded unless you ask. Connections are encrypted, every session is covered by an NDA, and telehealth and counseling sessions are handled in line with HIPAA, with a BAA available.

03Can one interpreter work a session in two languages?

No. One booking is for English and one other language, so a session with two other languages needs two bookings that share the same link.

04Can the same interpreter join a client's weekly sessions?

You can ask for it in the booking notes. A booking is for the service, not for a particular interpreter, so we take the request into account and assign them when they are available.

05How many hours should we book for an online meeting?

The price is by the hour, and the total shows before you pay. Unused time is not refunded, so book the whole meeting, including the part where staff explain forms.

06Which languages do you interpret by video?

70 languages. Spanish, Mandarin, Korean, Tagalog, Portuguese and French are the easiest to schedule. Rare languages such as Pashto need more notice.

07Vos interprètes en Hébreu sont-ils certifiés ?

Oui.
