Typical Hebraico bookings
Calls with families
Caseworkers use the phone for contact between meetings. Phone interpreters are booked for the calls below.
After a visit or a meeting, the caseworker may call a parent to ask a question or to confirm what was agreed. Book the time you expect the call to take.
A call to set up the next visit or family meeting is mostly dates, times and places. The interpreter interprets each one in full, so the parent knows where to be and when.
A safety plan lists the steps a family has agreed to take. The caseworker calls to ask how the steps are going, and the interpreter interprets the questions and the parent's answers.
Phone calls
Phone is used for contact that does not need a visit, such as a follow-up question, a change of date or a check on how the family is doing. Nobody has to travel or open a link, and the parent can use any phone. Phone also works when the family speaks a language with no interpreter nearby, since interpreters dial in from anywhere. A meeting where people need to see each other or look at a document is better held by video or in person.

The caseworker or investigator leads the call and asks the questions. The parent or caregiver answers, and a supervisor sometimes joins. The interpreter dials in as well, and once everyone is on the line, the interpreter can add a third party, such as a relative, to the call.
With no video, the interpreter relies on turns. The caseworker or the parent finishes a part and pauses, and the interpreter interprets it in full for the other person, in the first person. The interpreter stays neutral and keeps the call confidential. Advice for the parent and explanations of the agency's decisions are left to the caseworker.
A turn on the call
The reply
The confirmation holds a dial-in number and an access code. Share both with the parent before the call, and add the caseworker's and the parent's names to the booking notes. Nothing can be shown over the phone, so send a date, an address or a name in writing beforehand.
Presencial, por vídeo ou por telefone
Phone is for short contact between meetings. For anything longer, or a meeting where people sit down together, another setting works better.

An interpreter in person is the choice for home visits and for meetings at the agency office.
Interpretação presencial para entrevistas do serviço de proteção à criança
Video fits family team meetings and case plan reviews with several people in different places.
Interpretação remota por vídeo para entrevistas do serviço de proteção à criança
Phone fits follow-up calls, scheduling and safety plan check-ins, where nothing has to be shown.

O que você recebe
Todo arquivo e toda sessão são cobertos por NDA e transmitidos por conexão criptografada. Assuntos clínicos são tratados em conformidade com a HIPAA.
Se você também precisar de traduções
Nothing can be shown over the phone, so documents in another language should be translated and sent before the call.
Birth and marriage certificates, translated so the caseworker has the names and dates in English before the call.
Vaccination and medical records, translated before a call that asks about a child's health.
Text messages in another language, translated so the caseworker can refer to them by date during the call.
Perguntas frequentes

Não encontrou o que procura?
Only the people on the line. The interpreter works under an NDA, connections are encrypted, and we do not record unless you ask.
The interpreter stays reserved for the booked time, and time that goes unused is not refunded. Cancellation is in writing, with a full refund more than seven days before, 75% between seven days and 48 hours before, and no refund in the last 48 hours.
We can change the booking to a video session, subject to the interpreter's availability.
Name the interpreter in the booking notes. We book the service rather than a particular person, so we take the request into account and assign them when they are available.
By the time you book, and the total shows before you pay. A call where every sentence is interpreted takes longer than one in English, so book more time than the English call would need.
70 languages. Spanish, Haitian Creole, Arabic, Vietnamese and Mandarin are the easiest to schedule, and rare languages need more notice.
