Conferences we interpret
Parents and teachers meet by video for these kinds of conferences. Tell us which one it is in the booking notes, so the interpreter knows what the conversation will be about.
Teachers meet each family for a short slot, usually about 15 to 20 minutes, to go over grades and how the child is doing in class. By video, the family joins the school's link at its slot, and the interpreter joins the same link.
A teacher asks to meet a parent during the term, because grades have dropped or a child needs extra help. Put the child's name and the reason in the booking notes.
A teacher, counselor or assistant principal meets the parent about missed days or a problem in class. The interpreter interprets what the school says and what the parent answers, with nothing left out.
Video conferences
Parent-teacher conferences are usually held at school, in a classroom or an office. Schools use video when a parent cannot come to the building, and when no interpreter for the family's language works near the school. The school sends a link, the parent joins from home or work, and the interpreter joins the same link as a guest from anywhere in the US.
The teacher reports on the child's grades, work and behavior. The parent or guardian asks questions and says what they see at home, and some schools also invite the student to join. The interpreter joins the same video call, so the teacher and the parent talk to each other directly.
The interpreter makes the conference as clear for the parent as it would be if the teacher and the parent spoke one language. Whatever the teacher says about the child is interpreted in full, and so is every question and comment from the parent. The interpreter stays neutral, keeps the conference confidential and does not add advice, opinions or explanations of their own.
Report and question
A conference day is a run of short slots. Send the schedule with the family names, and add the link in your dashboard. If each family has its own link, list the links in the order of the slots. A second language needs its own booking, which can use the same schedule.

If the platform allows screen sharing, yes. The teacher can show a report card or a piece of work, and the interpreter interprets what is said about it.
The interpreter stays for the hours you booked and is there for the next family. Time you do not use is not refunded, since the interpreter is held for the whole booking.
