Calls we interpret

Phone interpreters for insurance claim calls, from the first report to settlement offers

Phone fits calls made of questions and answers. Four of them come up at different points in a claim.

First report of a claim

The claimant or policyholder reports the loss and gives the date, the place and the people involved. The adjuster needs those details exactly, so names, dates and numbers are interpreted in full.

Status updates

The adjuster tells the claimant where the claim stands and what is still needed. A status call can be short, and the claimant can ask about the next step.

Explaining a decision

When the insurer accepts or denies a claim, or makes a settlement offer, the adjuster explains it to the claimant by phone. The interpreter interprets the explanation and the claimant's questions, without adding advice.

Requests for documents

The adjuster asks for photos, receipts or forms. The interpreter interprets the request and the claimant's answer about what they have and how they can send it.

What to know about claim calls by phone with an interpreter

When phone is used

Phone suits claim calls that are questions and answers, such as reporting a loss, checking on progress or hearing a decision. The adjuster and the claimant call in from wherever they are, and the interpreter dials in from anywhere in the US, which helps when no interpreter for the language works near the claimant. Nobody can look at a photo or a form during the call, so a step that needs documents is better by video.

Who is on the line

The adjuster leads the call, and the claimant or policyholder answers and asks questions. A public adjuster, an attorney or a family member can listen in or speak for the claimant. The interpreter dials in to the same line and can add another person once everyone is on it.

The interpreter's role

The interpreter makes the call as clear as it would be in one language. Everything is heard and nothing is seen, so each speaker says a short part and pauses. The interpreter then says that part in the other language, in the first person, so each side hears the other's own words. The interpreter is neutral, keeps the call confidential, and does not comment on the claim or the offer.

Names, numbers and dates

Amounts and dates are easy to mishear without a page in front of you. Put the claim number, the names involved and any amounts the adjuster plans to mention in the booking notes, so the interpreter reads them before the call. If the call turns out to need photos or forms on screen, we can change the booking to video, subject to the interpreter's availability.

Choosing between phone, video and on-site for an insurance claim

Phone needs no setup, but nobody can see a photo or a form. Choose by what the call has to show.

Como funciona

How to book a phone interpreter for an insurance claim

Enter the call date, start time and the claimant's language. The price for the booked time shows right away.

  2. Faça o pedido

Pay online to confirm. The booking opens in your dashboard with a dial-in number and an access code to share, and a place for notes such as the claim number.

Our dispatcher assigns an interpreter with experience in insurance claims and confirms the name to you.

  4. Entre na sua sessão

Everyone calls in at the booked time, and the interpreter stays on the line until the booked time ends.

O que você recebe

  • The interpreter's name, sent to you before the call.
  • A dial-in number and an access code kept in your project.
  • A confirmation in your dashboard and by email, with the notes you added.

If you also need documents translated before the call

Nothing can be shown on a phone call, so documents in another language are better translated and sent to the adjuster first.

Perguntas frequentes

Questions about phone interpreters for insurance claims

01How far ahead should we book a claim call?

At least 48 to 72 hours ahead, and earlier if you can.

02Do you interpret recorded statements by phone?

Yes. A recorded statement is a separate, formal step, so book it as its own session and say in the notes that the adjuster will record it.

03How is a phone claim call priced?

By the time you book, and the total shows before you pay. A call with an interpreter takes longer than one in English, so book more time than the same call would need in English.

04Can one interpreter work with two claimants who speak different languages?

No. Each language needs its own interpreter and its own booking.

05Which languages do you interpret by phone?

70 languages. Spanish, Mandarin, Tagalog, French and Vietnamese are among the easiest to schedule, and rare languages such as Pashto need more notice.

06Seus intérpretes de Pachto são certificados?

Sim.
