An Arabic divorce record has two possible sources, the court or religious authority that ruled and the civil registry that recorded it. In Algeria the Hokme Al Talak is a court judgment on A4 paper with a round red court seal and the registrar's signature, and certified copies come from the same court. Qatar's Initial Court issues a Wathikkat Talaq. In Jordan, divorces from Sharia or church courts must be registered with the Civil Status and Passport Department, which then issues the formal certificate. Egyptian papers from the Maazoun are often handwritten. We translate the judgment or certificate you were issued, with every page and any registry note on the back.

Texliff's certified Arabic translations are accepted by USCIS, the National Visa Center, state agencies, DMVs, schools and universities, courts and more. When a petitioner has a prior marriage, USCIS looks for the date the divorce became final and for names that match the passport and the marriage record. Courts read the custody and support terms. Clerks issuing a new marriage license want the final date, which an Arabic record may give in the Hijri calendar, so the translation also states the Gregorian date. The signed statement of accuracy is what each office files with the translation.

and the employers, banks and insurers that ask for a certified translation
Send a photo or scan of the divorce certificate or judgment, every page and the back where it is written on. The word count sets the price, and you see it before you order. A native Arabic translator who handles family and civil records does the translation, and a second linguist checks the names, the finality date and the seals. You follow progress in your dashboard. You receive a signed PDF with the Certificate of Accuracy, and a hard copy can be mailed on request. Rush options are available.
Each party's full name chain stays in the order the record gives it, spelled the way the passport spells it. The translator finds the line that says when the divorce became final and converts a Hijri date into a clear Gregorian one. The wording that records the type of divorce is translated as ruled, without softening. Case, judgment and registry numbers are copied exactly. The court's round seal, the judge's signature and any later registry stamp are described where they sit, and handwritten notes in the margin are translated too.

Yes. Every certified translation includes a signed Certificate of Translation Accuracy meeting USCIS requirements, and the same format is accepted by courts, universities, and licensing boards.
Arabic records often chain given name, father’s name, and family name; the translation keeps the full chain in order rather than trimming it to a Western first-last pattern. Arabic is written right-to-left in its own script; every name is romanized, and because the same Arabic name has several accepted English spellings, we match the spelling on a passport or prior filings whenever one is available.
Many records carry Hijri calendar dates alongside or instead of Gregorian ones — both are rendered, with the Gregorian equivalent stated clearly.
