A Slovenian divorce is ruled by a court, and the court's judgment is the paper most offices want to see. The marriage it ends sits in the register kept by an administrative unit (upravna enota), which issues the Izpisek iz matičnega registra o sklenjeni zakonski zvezi. That extract is signed by the civil registrar (matičar) and carries a round blue or violet seal with the coat of arms. Slovenia does not issue certified copies of its extracts, but duplicate originals may be issued, and an international version exists with English text. We translate the version you were issued, complete, front and back where the back carries anything.

Texliff's certified Slovenian translations are accepted by USCIS, the National Visa Center, state agencies, DMVs, schools and universities, courts and more. After a prior marriage, USCIS officers look for the date the divorce became final and match both spouses' names against the petition and the passport. Courts and clerks read the case number and the operative ruling. The judgment writes its dates day first, so the translation names the month in each. The signed statement of accuracy is what each office files with the translation.

Take a photo or scan of the divorce judgment or the register extract, every page and both sides. The word count sets the price and it shows before you order. A native Slovenian translator who works on court and civil records translates it, a second linguist checks the names, the case number and the finality date, and you follow each step in your dashboard. The signed PDF comes with a Certificate of Accuracy. A mailed hard copy is available on request, and rush options are available.
Each spouse's name keeps its accent marks, such as č, š and ž, exactly as registered, and matches the passport. Day first dates become unambiguous English dates, and the date the judgment became final is translated exactly. The case number, the court's name and the registrar's title are carried across without change. Court and administrative unit seals are described where they sit. Any annotation about a restored surname or a later correction is translated in full, because that is where an officer links the names on your other papers.
