A Finnish divorce certificate is a civil status certificate from the population information system, issued by the Digital and Population Data Services Agency (DVV). You can order it online at dvv.fi or in person, and certified copies are available. It has no special seal, color or format, so a plain printout is normal. Records from before September 30, 1999 may instead come from the local parish office (kirkkoherranvirasto) of the Lutheran or Orthodox church. U.S. offices want the document that shows the divorce as recorded. We translate the certificate you hold in full, including its status entries and any back page.

Texliff's certified Finnish translations are accepted by USCIS, the National Visa Center, state agencies, DMVs, schools and universities, courts and more. For a Finnish divorce certificate, officers look for the date the marriage ended and for names that match the passport and the marriage record. The extract can list several life events in one document, so the translation keeps every entry and the divorce stays easy to find. Clerks handling a remarriage want the status and dates in plain English. The signed statement of accuracy is what each of them files with the translation.

and the employers, banks and insurers that ask for a certified translation
Upload a photo or a scan of the certificate, front and back. The word count sets the price, and it shows before you order. A native Finnish translator who works on civil records does the translation. A second linguist then reviews the names, the dates and the register entries that matter for a divorce. You follow each step in your dashboard. The signed PDF comes with a Certificate of Accuracy, a hard copy can be mailed on request, and rush options are available.
Dates are written day first, so each one becomes an unambiguous English date. Names are spelled the way the passport spells them, with letters such as ä and ö kept. The certificate often combines marital status with other entries from the population information system, and the translator keeps that structure whole. Registry wording for the status is rendered in the terms a U.S. clerk expects. Any stamp or printed reference code is noted where it sits, and a parish record from before 1999 is translated in full.

Yes. Every certified translation includes a signed Certificate of Translation Accuracy meeting USCIS requirements, and the same format is accepted by courts, universities, and licensing boards.
Finnish extracts often combine several life events in one population register document; the translation preserves the full structure. Finnish uses the Latin alphabet with ä and ö — preserved in names exactly as issued.
