Greek divorce papers reach us from Greece and Cyprus, and the two work differently. In Greece the record is called a Διαζύγιο, a declaration of the dissolution of the marriage, and fees apply when you request a copy. In Cyprus the Πιστοποιητικό Διαζυγίου comes from the Family Court or District Court that ended the marriage and carries the judge's seal. When the marriage was ended in the Greek Orthodox rite, the certificate comes from the Bishopric that holds the marriage record. A U.S. office wants the paper that shows the divorce is final. We translate the divorce paper you hold, both sides, with every stamp.

Texliff's certified Greek translations are accepted by USCIS, the National Visa Center, state agencies, DMVs, schools and universities, courts and more. Officers filing a spouse petition after a prior marriage look for the date the divorce became final and for names that match the passport. Clerks issuing a marriage license read both spouses' names and the court or Bishopric that granted the divorce. Courts read the dissolution wording, which the translation keeps close to the original. The signed statement of accuracy is what each of them files with the translation.

and the employers, banks and insurers that ask for a certified translation
Take a photo or scan of the divorce certificate, front and back, and upload it. The word count sets the price, and you see it before you order. A native Greek translator who works on court and civil records translates the document. A second linguist then reviews the names, the date of finality and the case numbers. You follow the order in your dashboard and receive a signed PDF with the Certificate of Accuracy. A hard copy by mail is available on request, and rush options are available.
Names are spelled the way the passport spells them, and the father's name stays in its field when the record gives one. Day-first dates become unambiguous English dates, and the date the divorce took effect is kept apart from the date of the ruling. Court or registry numbers are copied exactly. The judge's seal, the Bishopric's stamp and any later certification stamp are described where they sit. Wording about who keeps the marriage name, custody or support is translated in full, because courts and clerks act on it.

Yes. Every certified translation includes a signed Certificate of Translation Accuracy meeting USCIS requirements, and the same format is accepted by courts, universities, and licensing boards.
Greek records often include the father’s name as a standard field; every element appears in the translation exactly as registered. Greek has its own alphabet; names are romanized under the official ELOT standard used on Greek passports, so the rendered spelling matches the holder’s other documents.
Dates are day-first and are converted to unambiguous English dates.
