Estonian divorce records come from Estonia, and a divorce may be recorded by the vital statistics office (perekonnaseisuamet) or decided by a court and issued as a judgment. Estonia keeps civil records in its e-governance system, so an official copy is an extract printed on plain white paper or issued as a digitally signed electronic file. A U.S. office wants the document that shows the divorce is final. We translate the version you were issued, complete, front and back where the back carries anything.

Texliff's certified Estonian translations are accepted by USCIS, the National Visa Center, state agencies, DMVs, schools and universities, courts and more. USCIS officers read the divorce date to confirm a prior marriage ended before the next one began, and they match both spouses' names and the Estonian personal identification code against the petition. Clerks and courts read the date and the office or court that recorded the divorce. Estonian dates are written day first, so the translation spells out the month. Each office files the signed statement of accuracy with the translation.

Upload a photo or a scan of the divorce extract or judgment, front and back. The word count sets the price and it shows before you order. A native Estonian translator who works on civil records translates it, and a second linguist reviews the names, the divorce date and the personal code. You follow the order in your dashboard. The signed PDF arrives with a Certificate of Accuracy, a mailed hard copy is available on request, and rush options are available.
Each spouse's name is spelled as the passport spells it, with letters such as õ, ä, ö and ü kept. The personal identification code of each spouse is copied exactly as printed. The date of the divorce is the one that matters most, and the translation writes it as an unambiguous English date. On a judgment, the court's name, the case number and the line that says the decision took effect are translated closely. Digital signature notes on an electronic extract are described where they appear.

Yes. Every certified translation includes a signed Certificate of Translation Accuracy meeting USCIS requirements, and the same format is accepted by courts, universities, and licensing boards.
Records carry the Estonian personal identification code; identifiers transfer exactly as printed. Estonian uses the Latin alphabet with õ, ä, ö, and ü — all preserved; Soviet-era records may be in Russian, which we also translate.
Dates are day-first and are re-expressed unambiguously.
