Somali divorce papers come from more than one country, and they look different. Kenya's law courts issue a Decree Nisi and then a Decree Absolute signed by a magistrate, and the absolute is the one that shows the divorce is final. Djibouti's Tribunal de Djibouti issues a Jugement de Divorce, and Islamic divorces are recorded by the regional Khadi or the Tribunal du Charia. Somalia has no civil authority issuing divorce records today, so a sworn affidavit from two witnesses stands in, and a Somaliland document goes with it. The decree or affidavit you hold is translated whole, every page and both sides.

Texliff's certified Somali translations are accepted by USCIS, the National Visa Center, state agencies, DMVs, schools and universities, courts and more. USCIS officers look for the date the divorce became final and for both parties' full names, matched against the petition and the passport. Clerks issuing a marriage license read the same date. Courts read the custody and support terms. An affidavit in place of a decree is translated in full, with the witnesses' names and what they swear to. The signed statement of accuracy is what each of them files with the translation.

Take a photo or a scan of the decree or affidavit, every page and both sides. The word count sets the price and it shows before you order. A native Somali translator who works on civil records translates it, and a second linguist reviews the names, the finality date and the case numbers. You follow each step in your dashboard. The signed PDF arrives with a Certificate of Accuracy, and a mailed hard copy is available on request. Rush options are available.
Somali names run given name, father's name and grandfather's name, and the translation keeps all three parts spelled the way the passport spells them. Dates are rendered exactly as the record states them, including a year-only date. The Decree Nisi and the Decree Absolute are kept apart, and the finality date is never merged with the filing date. Case numbers, the magistrate's or Khadi's title and court stamps are copied and described where they sit. In an affidavit, the place, the date and each witness name are translated line by line.

Can't find it here?
Yes. Every certified translation includes a signed Certificate of Translation Accuracy meeting USCIS requirements, and the same format is accepted by courts, universities, and licensing boards.
Somali names typically chain the given name with the father’s and grandfather’s names rather than a family surname; the translation keeps that three-part structure. Somali uses the Latin alphabet; names are preserved exactly, and where older records mix in Arabic, we translate that too.
Records may carry approximate or year-only dates; the translation renders exactly what the record states.
