Most Urdu divorce certificates we translate come from Pakistan, where Union Councils, Municipal Corporations, Cantonment Boards and, in Islamabad, the Capital Development Authority register divorces. Since 2001 the certificate has followed a computerized format in Punjab, Sindh, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Balochistan, Islamabad and Gilgit-Baltistan. In Azad Kashmir, five districts issue computerized copies linked to NADRA and the other five still issue manual ones. A certificate on rupee paper is not accepted for U.S. immigration filings, so check the paper before you order. We translate the version you were issued, complete, and front and back wherever the back carries a stamp or an entry.

Texliff's certified Urdu translations are accepted by USCIS, the National Visa Center, state agencies, DMVs, schools and universities, courts and more. For a divorce certificate, USCIS officers look for the date the divorce was registered and match both spouses' names against the marriage certificate and the passport. Courts and clerks read the same date to confirm that you were free to remarry. Names keep the father's or husband's name entry exactly as the record structures it, and dates are written day first, so the translation spells out the month. The signed statement of accuracy is what each office files with the translation.

and the employers, banks and insurers that ask for a certified translation
Upload a photo or a scan of the divorce certificate, front and back. The word count sets the price and it shows before you order. A native Urdu translator who works on civil records translates it, a second linguist checks the names, dates and registration numbers, and you follow every step in your dashboard. The signed PDF arrives with a Certificate of Accuracy, and a mailed hard copy is available on request. Rush options are available.
Each name is carried over the way the record structures it, including the father's or husband's name and any honorific, and it is matched to the passport spelling. Dates are day first, and where a record carries a Hijri date the translation gives the Gregorian equivalent beside it. The registration number, the Union Council or NADRA reference and any code printed on a computerized copy are copied exactly. Stamps and the registrar's signature are described where they sit. Handwritten entries on manual copies are translated, and anything unreadable is flagged.

Yes. Every certified translation includes a signed Certificate of Translation Accuracy meeting USCIS requirements, and the same format is accepted by courts, universities, and licensing boards.
Pakistani records often print names with honorifics or father’s/husband’s name entries; each element is carried over exactly as the record structures it. Urdu is written right-to-left in Perso-Arabic script; names are romanized to match passports or NADRA records, since the same Urdu name supports several English spellings.
Dates are day-first, and some older or religious records carry Hijri dates — both are rendered with the Gregorian equivalent clear.
