A Vietnamese divorce is ended by a court, so the paper you hold is usually a court document and not a certificate from the commune office. It is either a judgment (bản án) or a decision recognizing a divorce by mutual consent (quyết định công nhận thuận tình ly hôn). The divorce is also noted in the marriage record kept by the civil status office (hộ tịch). Vietnam has no single national registry, so copies come from the court or the province that heard the case. U.S. offices want the decree that shows the date it took effect. We translate the judgment or decision you were issued, every page, front and back.

Texliff's certified Vietnamese translations are accepted by USCIS, the National Visa Center, state agencies, DMVs, schools and universities, courts and more. USCIS officers look for the date the divorce took effect and match both spouses' names against the earlier marriage record and the passport. Courts and clerks read the case number and the terms on custody and support. Vietnamese family names come first, and the translation keeps that order so the names match your other papers. The signed statement of accuracy is what each office files with the translation.

Take a photo or a scan of the decision, every page, front and back. The word count sets the price and it shows before you order. A native Vietnamese translator who works on court and civil records does the translation, and a second linguist reviews the names, the dates and the case numbers. You follow the order in your dashboard. The signed PDF comes with a Certificate of Accuracy, a mailed hard copy is available on request, and rush options are available.
Each spouse's name stays in Vietnamese order, family name first, with every tone mark and spelled the way the passport spells it. Dates written day first become clear English dates, and the date the decision took effect is translated exactly. The judgment or decision number, the name of the court and the judge's title are copied as written. Seals and signatures are described where they sit. Terms on children, support and property are translated in full, because courts and officers act on those lines.

Yes. Every certified translation includes a signed Certificate of Translation Accuracy meeting USCIS requirements, and the same format is accepted by courts, universities, and licensing boards.
Vietnamese names run family name first (Nguyễn Văn A); the translation keeps the original order and never flips it into Western order. Vietnamese uses the Latin alphabet dense with diacritics (ả, ế, ộ, ư) that change meaning — every mark is preserved in names exactly as issued.
Dates are day-first and are converted to unambiguous English dates.
