Swahili divorce papers we translate come mostly from Kenya and Tanzania, and some from Uganda. In Kenya the law courts close a divorce with a Decree Nisi and then a Decree Absolute, signed by a magistrate. In Tanzania the High Court Registrar in Dar es Salaam issues certified copies of decrees, and the Registrar of Marriages also issues a divorce certificate. Zanzibar's Registrar General issues its own. In Uganda only a court order ends a marriage. In Tanzania, a divorce before 1971 settled outside court may be recorded by a church. U.S. offices usually want the final decree. We translate the decree or certificate you hold, complete, every page.

Texliff's certified Swahili translations are accepted by USCIS, the National Visa Center, state agencies, DMVs, schools and universities, courts and more. For a divorce, officers look for the date it became final, so the translation keeps the nisi and absolute decrees apart and states each date. Names must match the passport and the marriage record. Courts read custody and support terms word for word. Each office files the signed statement of accuracy together with the translation.

Photograph or scan every page of the decree or certificate, front and back. The word count sets the price and it shows before you order. A native Swahili translator who works on court and civil records does the translation. A second linguist then reviews the decree dates, the case numbers and both names. You follow the order in your dashboard. The signed PDF comes with a Certificate of Accuracy, a mailed hard copy is available on request, and rush options are available.
Case numbers, decree numbers and court station names are copied exactly. Dates are written day first, so the translation spells out the month. The translator keeps a Decree Nisi and a Decree Absolute apart, because only the absolute decree shows the marriage has ended. Magistrate and registrar signatures, court stamps and later certification marks are described where they sit. Names follow the passport, including a maiden name the decree restores. Handwritten additions are translated, and anything unreadable is marked as illegible.

Can't find it here?
Yes. Every certified translation includes a signed Certificate of Translation Accuracy meeting USCIS requirements, and the same format is accepted by courts, universities, and licensing boards.
Names are preserved exactly as registered. Swahili uses the Latin alphabet; East African records are often bilingual with English, and the translation renders the Swahili portions and keeps both aligned.
Dates are day-first and are re-expressed unambiguously.
