A Lithuanian divorce can leave two papers. The court judgment (teismo sprendimas) ends the marriage, and the civil registry office (civilinės metrikacijos skyrius) of the municipality enters the divorce in its register and issues a certificate or extract. That registry paper may be an older certificate or a newer extract. A U.S. office may ask for the judgment as well, because it shows the date the divorce took effect. We translate the version you were issued, complete and front and back where the back carries anything.

Texliff's certified Lithuanian translations are accepted by USCIS, the National Visa Center, state agencies, DMVs, schools and universities, courts and more. When a petitioner has been married before, USCIS looks at the divorce date and at whether the names match the passport and the earlier marriage record. Courts and state offices read the date the divorce took effect and the name the person returns to. The divorce date is written with the month spelled out. The signed statement of accuracy is what each office files with the translation.

and the employers, banks and insurers that ask for a certified translation
Upload a photo or a scan of the divorce certificate or judgment, front and back. The word count sets the price, and it shows before you order. A native Lithuanian translator who works on civil records does the translation. A second linguist then reviews the names, the dates and the court details. You follow the order in your dashboard. The signed PDF comes with a Certificate of Accuracy, and a hard copy can be mailed on request. Rush options are available.
Surnames are rendered exactly as registered, because Lithuanian surnames change ending with marital status and the name a person returns to after the divorce matters. Dates are converted from year first to standard English dates, and the date the judgment took effect is kept apart from the date of the registry entry. The case number, the court's name, the register entry number and the official's title are copied exactly. Seals and signatures are described where they sit. Any note about a restored name is translated in full.

Yes. Every certified translation includes a signed Certificate of Translation Accuracy meeting USCIS requirements, and the same format is accepted by courts, universities, and licensing boards.
Lithuanian female surnames historically encode marital status through endings (-aitė, -ienė); each person’s surname is rendered exactly as registered. Lithuanian uses the Latin alphabet with ą, č, ė, š, and ū — all preserved; Soviet-era records may be in Russian, which we also translate.
Lithuanian dates run year-first (1990-05-12) and are converted to standard Western dates.
