Hindi divorce certificates and decrees reach us mostly from India, Nepal and Fiji. In India a divorce is ended by a court decree under the Hindu Marriage Act of 1955 or the Special Marriage Act of 1954. The decree signed by the judge is the document, and its format changes from court to court. Nepal registers divorces at the ward office or municipality, and an online application is collected with a token number. Fiji decrees come from its courts. A U.S. office wants the final decree. We translate the version you were issued, complete, front and back.

Texliff's certified Hindi translations are accepted by USCIS, the National Visa Center, state agencies, DMVs, schools and universities, courts and more. On a divorce certificate, USCIS officers look for the date the divorce became final and for names that match the marriage certificate and the passport. Courts and state agencies read the case number, the court that granted the decree and any custody or support terms. Dates are written day first, so the translation spells out the month and converts any Vikram Samvat date. The signed statement of accuracy is what each office files with the translation.

and the schools, employers and banks that ask for a certified translation
Upload a photo or a scan of the decree or certificate, every page and the back where it carries stamps. The word count sets the price, and it shows before you order. A native Hindi translator who works on court and civil records translates it. A second linguist then reviews the names, the decree date and the case number. You follow the order in your dashboard and receive a signed PDF with a Certificate of Accuracy. A hard copy can be mailed on request, and rush options are available.
Names are rendered exactly as registered, with no reordering, and initials for a father's or village name stay as written. A restored maiden name is translated as the court ruled it, so the reviewer can match it to the passport. The decree date and the date it became final are kept apart. Case and registry numbers are copied exactly. The judge's signature and the court seal are described where they sit. Handwritten notes in the margin are translated, and Vikram Samvat dates are converted to the calendar the U.S. office reads.

Yes. Every certified translation includes a signed Certificate of Translation Accuracy meeting USCIS requirements, and the same format is accepted by courts, universities, and licensing boards.
Indian records vary in name order and may use initials for father’s or village names; the translation renders the name exactly as registered without reordering. Hindi is written in Devanagari script; names are romanized to match how they already appear on passports or prior English-language records, since many Indian documents are partly bilingual.
Dates are day-first and re-expressed unambiguously; some certificates also carry Vikram Samvat calendar dates, which are converted.
