In Denmark marital status is recorded in the Central Person Register, the CPR, which is why many Danish clients hold a Personattest rather than a stand-alone divorce certificate. The Personattest is a certified extract that shows marital status next to name, parents and birth details. A divorce decree from the authority that granted the divorce is the fuller document. A Vielsesattest cannot be issued to someone who is divorced, because it only shows a current marriage. Every record carries the ten-digit CPR number. We translate what you were issued, with the back included where it carries anything.

Texliff's certified Danish translations are accepted by USCIS, the National Visa Center, state agencies, DMVs, schools and universities, courts and more. When a petition follows an earlier marriage, officers look for the date the divorce took effect and for names that match the passport and the marriage record. County clerks reading a Danish record before a new marriage license want the marital status line, and the CPR number has to match the other papers in the file. The signed statement of accuracy is what each office files with the translation.

and the banks, employers and insurers that ask for proof of marital status
Upload a photo or a scan of the Personattest or decree, front and back. The word count sets the price and it shows before you order. A native Danish translator who works on civil records translates it, a second linguist checks the names, the dates and the marital status entries, and you follow each step in your dashboard. The signed PDF comes with a Certificate of Accuracy, and a mailed hard copy is available on request. Rush options are available.
The CPR number is copied exactly as printed, in the DDMMYY-SSSS pattern, for both spouses. Dates are written day first, so the translation spells out the month to leave no doubt about when the divorce took effect. Names stay as the passport spells them, including the letters æ, ø and å. The marital status line, the name of the issuing authority and any reference number are translated or copied in full, and stamps and signatures are described where they sit on the page.

Yes. Every certified translation includes a signed Certificate of Translation Accuracy meeting USCIS requirements, and the same format is accepted by courts, universities, and licensing boards.
Danish records reference the CPR personal identification number; identifiers transfer exactly as printed. Danish uses the Latin alphabet with æ, ø, and å — preserved in names exactly as issued.
Dates are day-first and are re-expressed unambiguously.
