What to know about a French divorce certificate translation
Which French divorce papers you may hold
French divorce papers reach us from France, Belgium, Switzerland, Luxembourg and Francophone Africa. In France it is a jugement de divorce from the court, or a deed filed with a notary when both spouses agreed, and the divorce is also noted in the margin of the marriage record. Luxembourg's Tribunal d'arrondissement issues a Certificat 39. Cameroon, Burkina Faso and Madagascar issue a jugement de divorce, and Burkina Faso's usually runs two or three pages. Niger issues an extrait d'acte de divorce. A Swiss family certificate is not accepted in its place. We translate the version you were issued, front and back.

What the translator checks on a French divorce record
