Ukrainian divorces are recorded by two kinds of office. A district court issues a decree (Рішення суду про розірвання шлюбу). A civil registration office, the DRATsS, which older papers call RAHS, issues a Svidotstvo pro rozirvannya shlyubu when it registers the divorce itself. The marriage certificate cannot be reissued once the marriage has ended, so many people hold an extract from the state registry (витяг з державного реєстру) instead. It gives the dates of the marriage and the divorce and the surnames before and after. We translate the version you were issued, complete and front and back.

Texliff's certified Ukrainian translations are accepted by USCIS, the National Visa Center, state agencies, DMVs, schools and universities, courts and more. For a spouse-based petition after a first marriage, USCIS looks for the date the divorce took effect and for surnames that match the passport. County clerks reading a marriage license application want the same date. Courts also read the decree number and the court's name. The extract is read for the surnames before and after the marriage. The signed statement of accuracy goes in with each of them.

Take a photo or a scan of the decree or certificate and upload every page, front and back. The word count sets the price, and you see it before you order. A native Ukrainian translator who works on civil records does the translation. A second linguist then checks the dates, surnames and decree numbers against your scan. You follow the order in your dashboard. The signed PDF comes with a Certificate of Accuracy, and a hard copy can be mailed on request. Rush options are available.
Dates are written day first, so the translator converts them to plain English dates, and the date the decree took effect is kept apart from the date it was issued. The surname after the divorce is spelled the way the passport spells it. When a wife returned to her premarital surname, the translation shows both. Court and registry names, case numbers and entry numbers are copied exactly. Wet seals and the signature of the office head are described where they sit, and any handwritten note or stamp added later is translated too.

Yes. Every certified translation includes a signed Certificate of Translation Accuracy meeting USCIS requirements, and the same format is accepted by courts, universities, and licensing boards.
Ukrainian records carry a patronymic between the given and family name; the translation preserves all three parts. Ukrainian is written in Cyrillic with letters Russian lacks (і, ї, є, ґ); names are transliterated under Ukraine’s official romanization rules, matched to the passport spelling when available.
Dates are day-first and are converted to unambiguous English dates.
