Most Farsi divorce certificates we translate come from Iran, where a notary public (daftar-e asnad-e rasmi) registers divorces for Muslims and for Christians, Jews and Zoroastrians. The issuing body is the National Organization of Registration of Documents and Property. Older certificates are handwritten booklets with turquoise, red or burgundy covers. Since April 2024 a one-page typed certificate replaces the booklet. If the booklet was lost, a handwritten transcript from the registry office, called a roonevesht, may stand in for it. The divorce is also entered in both parties' shenasnameh. We translate the version you were issued, complete, front and back.

Texliff's certified Farsi translations are accepted by USCIS, the National Visa Center, state agencies, DMVs, schools and universities, courts and more. USCIS officers look for the date the divorce was registered and match both names against the marriage record and the passport, so the earlier marriage reads as ended. Courts and clerks read the notary's name and number and any terms recorded. Dates in the Solar Hijri calendar are converted and stated as Gregorian dates. The signed statement of accuracy is what each of them files with the translation.

Send a photo or a scan of the certificate or the booklet pages, front and back. The word count sets the price, and it shows before you order. A native Farsi translator who handles civil records does the translation, and a second linguist reviews the names, dates and registration numbers. You follow the order in your dashboard. The signed PDF comes with a Certificate of Accuracy, a mailed hard copy is available on request, and rush options are available.
Both spouses' names are spelled the way the passports spell them, and the father's name is kept where the certificate lists it. Registration and date entries are converted from the Solar Hijri calendar, so a date in the 1390s becomes a clear 2010s date in English. The notary's name and office number, the registration number and book and page references are copied exactly. Seals, stamps and the notes handwritten in the booklet are described where they sit, because the divorce date often appears in an annotation.

Yes. Every certified translation includes a signed Certificate of Translation Accuracy meeting USCIS requirements, and the same format is accepted by courts, universities, and licensing boards.
Iranian records may reference the shenasnameh (national identity booklet) number and family entries; identifiers are carried over exactly as printed. Farsi (Persian) is written right-to-left in Perso-Arabic script; names are romanized consistently, following the passport spelling wherever one exists.
Iranian documents are dated in the Solar Hijri calendar — a 1370s date is the 1990s — and every date is converted to its Gregorian equivalent, stated clearly.
