Armenian divorce certificates we translate usually come from Armenia, where the Civil Status Acts Registration Agency, known as ZAGS, registers divorces and issues the certificate. When a court ended the marriage, the court decision sits behind the certificate, and some filings need both. Forms vary by era. Recent ZAGS certificates may carry a QR code and a control number for online checks, while older and Soviet-era forms are paper certificates with a serial number and a round state stamp. USCIS wants the document that shows the marriage ended. We translate the certificate you were issued, complete, and its back page if it has notes.

Texliff's certified Armenian translations are accepted by USCIS, the National Visa Center, state agencies, DMVs, schools and universities, courts and more. For a divorce certificate, officers look for the date the marriage ended and for both spouses' names to match the petition and the passports. Names with a patronymic keep every element in the registered order, and the date, written day first, becomes an unambiguous English date. Clerks and courts use the certificate to confirm a person is free to remarry. The signed statement of accuracy is what each of them files with the translation.

Take a photo or scan of the divorce certificate, front and back, and upload it. The word count sets the price, and you see it before you order. A native Armenian translator who works on civil records does the translation, and a second linguist reviews the names, the dates and the registry numbers. You follow the order in your dashboard. The signed PDF comes with a Certificate of Accuracy, with a hard copy mailed on request. Rush options are available.
Each spouse's name is spelled the way the passport spells it, and a surname restored after the divorce is translated as written. The date the marriage ended is converted from day first to an unambiguous English date, and the date of registration is kept apart from the date of the court decision. The act number, the serial number and the control number are copied exactly. The round stamp, the national emblem and the Կ.Տ. mark are described where they sit, and any note in the margin is translated in full.
