Most Malayalam divorce records we translate were issued in Kerala, where a Family Court grants the decree. In India the decree comes from the court and not from a registrar, so the marriage certificate from the local registrar may carry no note of it. A decree often arrives as a judgment and a separate decree sheet, and both matter. Families in the Gulf bring records too. Qatar's Initial Court issues a divorce document called Wathikkat Talaq. Older papers may be handwritten or stamped by hand. We translate the version you were issued, complete and front and back where the back carries stamps or notes.

Texliff's certified Malayalam translations are accepted by USCIS, the National Visa Center, state agencies, DMVs, schools and universities, courts and more. USCIS officers look for the date the divorce became final, the full names of both spouses as the passport spells them, and the court's seal and the judge's signature. Kerala records often use house names and initials, so each name stays exactly as registered. Clerks and courts read the case number and the orders on custody and support. The dates of the marriage and of the decree are given with the month in words. The signed statement of accuracy is what each office files with the translation.

and the employers and insurers that ask to see the decree
Take a photo or scan of the decree, every page, front and back. The word count sets the price, and you see it before you order. A native Malayalam translator who works on court and civil records translates it. A second linguist then reviews the names, the case number and the finality date. You follow each step in your dashboard. The signed PDF comes with a Certificate of Accuracy, and a mailed hard copy is available on request. Rush options are available.
The names of both spouses are copied the way the passport and the marriage certificate spell them, with house names and initials left as registered. The finality date is found and written as a full English date, since the source gives it day first and some older papers use an era calendar that the translation converts. The case number, the decree number and the Family Court's name are copied exactly. Seals and the judge's signature are described where they sit, and handwritten endorsements are translated, because that is where a later correction or a restored name often appears.

Can't find it here?
Yes. Every certified translation includes a signed Certificate of Translation Accuracy meeting USCIS requirements, and the same format is accepted by courts, universities, and licensing boards.
Kerala records may use house names and initials in place of Western-style surnames; the translation renders the name exactly as registered without restructuring it. Malayalam has its own script; names are romanized to match passports or the English half of bilingual records.
Dates are day-first and re-expressed unambiguously; Malayalam-era dates on older records are converted.
